We had a group of local school kids come over for a visit and a tour around the resort. Doing tours like this shows the kids many the possibilities for their future careers and also gives them a good understanding on why so many people from all over the world come to their country on holidays and how important it is to conserve the beauty of the Philippines. We take pride in educating the future generation on conservation issues and teaching them the importance of keeping the environment (both land and sea) clean.
With much excitement, the whole Asia Divers sales team from all over the country (Makati, Cebu, Bohol, Boracay, Puerto Galera) got together for some work and of course some play too. Tommy gets the gang all together at least once a year and this year P.G. was the destination. During their time here everyone got the chance to know each other a bit better and explore Puerto Galera. Tommy filled everyone in on how things are going in each of the five locations business wise and looked at ways to do even better. The hot topic for this year’s was everyone’s new girlfriend “Eve” who has made her way into their hearts! EVE is a complete business management system, designed exclusively for the management of PADI dive centers and resorts and she is now part of the team too!
The Malasimbo Music and Arts Festival is the first international music and arts festival of its caliber in the Asia-Pacific. It is set amidst the tropical gardens of Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines; truly one of the world’s most enchanting backdrops for a festival. The festival grounds is situated on the foothills of the majestic Mount Malasimbo where its most prominent feature is a grass-terraced amphitheatre that overlooks the bay, renowned as one of “The Most Beautiful Bays in the World”.
The festival debuted in February 2011 to a stunning turnout of 1,500 individuals. Attendance more than doubled on year two as the festival drew in over 3,500 tourists to Puerto Galera. The festival is recognized by the Department of Tourism Philippines as a prime catalyst for the country’s continued advance in music, arts, and culture. It is highly publicized in local and international media for its awe-inspiring landscape and unique eco-cultural program.
You can purchase tickets at El Galleon as of February 22nd. Tickets purchased at the actual venue will be 10% higher in price than if you purchase them here in advance.
Tommi Kokkola and Tobias Pino celebrated the completion of their PADI Divemaster course in style. They both did an amazing job and now Tobias will be in the iDAP classroom on the next IDC. Congratulations from the whole Asia Divers team. Alli actually met Tobias at the doctor’s office in Makati last October. He noticed she had a dive computer on and so began the conversation that would eventually lead towards him choosing Asia Divers to do his training with. You just never know…
Welcome back to Brian Moh and to our new friend Andrey Erishev from Pacdome Travel in KL. Alli met Brian at the MIDE dive show in KL last and shortly after he came over to do his Rescue and Divemaster courses with us.
Brian is a professional photographer and got this great shot of the dive deck. He also became a PADI Digital Underwater Photo Instructor so he can now combine his job skills with his passion for diving. What a great combination!

Jikai approached his dive guide, Brad prior to the dive and told him he wanted to propose to his girlfriend Liu Na underwater. So Brad got a slate and Jikai wrote his proposal in it. Towards the end of the dive, Brad handed him the slate and then he showed it to Liu Na. Of course she was surprised, but happily for all she indicated a “YES” and he proceeded to pull out a ring and place it on her hand, all under the watch of Brad and Rob who was filming the whole thing!
