On the run

Look who took part in The 10K Milo Marathon held at Mall of Asia last Sunday. Allan, Rhuby, Kjell, and Paul all did the 10K. Wayne, Yumi, Oste and Sue did the 5K. A total of 37,060 runners/walkers took part. It was a great event and we can be sure to see them all out there doing it again, soon.

School holidays mean time to dive in Puerto Galera!

Doeke  & Oege Hamminga and  Bram  & Jan Van Eijk completed their PADI Open water course care of Troy and DM candidate Chris. The lads did an absolutely splendid job whilst both sets of Mums and Dads enjoyed a bit of fun diving and I guess a bit of peace and quiet! The two families’ from Holland have enjoyed their time here and are looking forward to more adventures in the Philippines!

Fun in the sun!

07b2Well it’s that time of year once again with a visit from our very own Adrian & Bonnie Chedore, seeking out the delights of Puerto Galera. This time they brought their friends Doug, Dan, Chris and Jan & Susan Dobrowolski with their two lads Daniel and Jozef. All have been having a great time care of Allan with organized dinners, BBQs and generally hitting the beach life. Sadly Doug, Dan and Chris could only stay a couple of days and where given a big send off in true Chedore fashion! Now the family Dobrowolski will stay until the end of the week diving and dining. Dan and Joe will no doubt be seen in next week’s newsletter sporting Padi Open Water certifications.

Family diving

Well done to our Swedish family: Mats & Kasija Bohlin and kids, Elisa & Oscar Barragan. They came to Asia divers and El Galleon for one hell of a diving holiday. Oscar (centre) started the ball rolling by doing his Advanced Open water course, followed by Enriched air certification for the whole family. Then Oscar bashed out a PADI Emergency first response / Rescue course for good measure. All had a great time at most of our local sites and even managed to get to Verde Island on their very last day. We hope to see you again next year. Well Done!

Young Jack Nicoll made a splendid effort of his PADI open water course care of Troy, he did such a great job that dad James gave the OK for him to do his Advanced open Water this week. I’m sure you’ll see jack sporting the same crafty smile in our next blog.

Fiesta time in Sabang

It’s fiesta time again! So we have our fair share of entertainment marching right past El galleon resort. Every year in the Philippines every local municipality (Barungay) has a fiesta for the locals. It’s a very interesting time for our guests to experience some of the local traditions, such as the marching band above, who march up and down the beach all day long. They sound very lively in the morning, but by the afternoon like a New Orleans Funeral. Very lovely and funny!

Welcome back to Jason!

Here’s a great shot of Mazi with Jason Jue and his friend Rena Sugiyama of Philippine Fun Divers, Bohol. Jason did his IDC here at Asia Divers with IDAP some years ago, and it’s great to have him back with camera in hand taking some shots of our wonderful macro wild life!
